Where words fail, music speaks

Andy Brems is an emerging jazz guitarist and trustee scholar at the University of Southern California. Before attending USC Thornton school of music, he performed with groups such as the California All State Jazz Band, SCSBOA All Star Band, and the YoungArts Los Angeles Jazz Combo.

His specialty in guitar is based on years of training in rock, pop, blues, and jazz styles. His studies with renowned educators/performers Wolf Marshall, Bruce Forman, and the Thornton school faculty have provided breadth and depth of knowledge in the contemporary guitar idiom.

Upon attending USC, Andy found that pursuing Cognitive Science in addition to jazz would allow for greater understanding of learning and memory in music. As a result, he brings his knowledge of performance to the stage and knowledge of music theory and the mind to the classroom.
